Waterloo Public Library - Get a Library Card

Membership @ WPL

Library membership is free for anyone residing in Waterloo. Simply present one (1) piece of identification with your name and current address, complete a brief application form and we'll provide you with a card.

Under WPL’s reciprocal borrowing program, members of the Kitchener, Cambridge, Region of Waterloo, Brant County and Hamilton Region public library systems can also join WPL for free. The residents of the aforementioned areas simply need to:
1. Present an active library card from their home system
2. Present one (1) piece of identification with their name and current address
3. Complete a brief WPL membership application form

For customers residing outside of the areas mentioned above, membership at WPL may still be obtained at a cost of $35.00 per year or $20.00 for 6 months.

By signing the card you agree to return all items borrowed, pay for overdue materials, and pay replacement and processing costs for lost or damaged materials.

Memberships are renewed once a year with a quick confirmation of your personal information.
